Orchid Route

From the information board at the community center, I follow hiking trail 3 (Orchid Route), to the right past the old rectory, slightly uphill, the first street on the left I take into Braunebachtal. The asphalt road now leads me along the stream. In spring I can enjoy the scent of wild garlic. The gurgling of the water accompanies me for almost half the route. So I walk gently uphill always following Braunebach, cross it and now follow Remmelbach until it also leaves me. When the meadows open up on both sides of the path, I am truly delighted to discover beautiful flowers. Slowly it ascends, but not all the elevation is reached yet, when I discover the farm "Altenacker" which is uninhabited today. Several hundred meters later the "Heicherborn" spring bubbles happily. The climb has made me quite thirsty; here I can refresh myself with a sip of cool water and fill my water bottle. This is, by the way, the water source for Altenacker. Refreshed and reflective - how far was it to fetch water daily? I continue always following the marking and soon reach the height. I can enjoy wonderful views here and clearly notice that from now on it only goes downhill. Through the trees, I can already see the first houses of Hanert. Soon I spot on the right side a gem, the "Kapellchen" where I allow myself another break before I walk down to the village, still looking around at how beautiful the view of the village and the castle is. It is very nice to end the hike like this and perhaps take a small break at the community center.
