The old Kreuzeiche with its ingrown cast iron crucifix is definitely worth a visit, truly worth seeing!
A visit to the Gickelturm on the way from Hömberg to Nassau is a highlight. Here the hiker is rewarded with splendid views into the Lahn valley with Nassau Castle and the heights of the Taunus. The tower is marked with signs.

From the parking lot at the outdoor pool in Nassau, head towards the underpass. Through this you reach the town center. The path leads over Amtsstraße, Amtsplatz, past the town hall, past Stein's Castle, through the Mühlpforte and Westerwaldstraße directly into the Kaltbach valley.
After about 1 km, you reach the edge of the forest. The hiking trail initially follows the Kaltbach stream and then steadily climbs up to the Windener Höhe.
Following the trail markings, you hike a short distance along the European long-distance trail (X) to the Kreuzeiche. There, keep left following the markings towards Hömberg. Once there, the path leads you through the street "Am Schäferköpfchen" and continues through "Gartenstraße" back to the forest edge.
The path now leads to the "Gickelsturm". You should not miss this view. Back to the main path and following the signage, you return via the Oberer Weinbergsweg to Nassau.
