Isarrauschen (HK23)

We turn right at the Tourist Information towards Badstraße and walk along the Franziskanerkirche. Over the roundabout and before the bridge, we go down the stairs and are already at the Isar. We now follow the Isar upstream. For now, we walk on a paved area between the street and the Isar, but soon we reach the Isarweg below the bridge. The popular Isarweg offers pedestrians completely new insights into the landscape along the Isar. At the beginning, the path is still flanked by old water of the Isar on both sides and the fauna is dominated by birches. The fauna and flora change constantly. Moor plants, mountain pine, and wide areas alternate. Sometimes the valley becomes very narrow between the Gaißacher and Wackersberger mountains, then the Isar valley opens up in all its splendor, with a mountain panorama reaching to the Dolomites in good weather. And the Isar itself, sometimes gently rustling, then rushing, roaring, shining clear green, and wild in all facets swirling. The sandbanks constantly change, making every walk a new experience. Pause and absorb the little things, listen to the birdsong and the sound of the water. We pay attention to the sign to the right to the Bibermühle. We continue through the floodplain landscape from the Isar up to the road to Arzbach. We turn right onto the road and can already see the bus stop. From here, we take the bus (RVO 9564) back to Bad Tölz.
