Start and finish of the Horbachkanzel round is the town center in Ludwigswinkel. From the village square, we head north, past the Daniel-Theysohn-Haus and to the district Schöontal. At the Schöontalweiher, we keep left and cross the L478. A narrow path leads us up to the "Horbachkanzel." The rock can be safely climbed via a ladder and offers a wonderful view.
Then we hike along a ridge path until another beautiful view invites us to linger. In clear weather, you can even see the Drachenfels castle ruins near Busenberg from here. Downhill, we come back into the valley and cross the country road. Here we hike on the "Dickschen Obstbaumallee," a path lined with old fruit trees, back to the starting point.

Safety information
Especially in autumn, one should also be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches fall down afterwards. Particularly in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect path impairments of this kind when hiking. If you believe certain sections are impassable for you, you should bypass them. Despite the "unmissable" marking of premium hiking trails, we always recommend carrying a suitable hiking map for safety reasons, so that, for example, in case of a thunderstorm or emergency, you can quickly find a safe area.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you encounter closures or detours on site, please observe the instructions for your own safety.
