Above Leukerbad, between the Gemmi Pass and the Wildstrubel Glacier, there is an alpine floodplain of national importance. The melting glacier has left behind a gray and rocky, but also fascinating, glacier forefield. From the Lämmeren Hut, you can see the end moraine of the Wildstrubel Glacier from 1850. We approach the glacier and with some luck, a golden eagle or a bearded vulture may be seen there. After the hike, there is plenty of time for an ice cream or an aperitif.
