A beautiful, short excursion to the three magnificent Finsterbach waterfalls.
The waterfall path leads into the Finsterbach gorge past three waterfalls over 20 meters high.

Gorges and ravines count - despite possible proximity to municipal road networks - as alpine areas and mountaineering with corresponding alpine hazards. These hazards include:- self- or externally-triggered rockfall and forestry hazards especially after weather events (heavy rain, wind and snow breakage, falling branches, etc.) despite annual inspections
- fall hazards off the marked paths or improper use of infrastructure (bridges)
- slip hazards when wet or icy
- visibility restrictions due to fog
Despite the annual infrastructural and organizational measures, appropriate equipment (see equipment recommendations) and vigilance towards objective dangers are required.

Roadbook
Starting from the Sattendorf Tourist Information, cross the Ossiacher Straße and follow the Dorfstraße slightly uphill towards the police station. At the highest point of Dorfstraße, turn left into Wasserfallweg just before the bridge. Then follow Wasserfallweg northwards, slightly uphill to the beginning of the Finsterbach valley. Here you will find the first waterfall. Now take a path with several switchbacks climbing higher on the left side of the stream. After just a few minutes, you reach the junction to the 2nd waterfall. The way to the 3rd waterfall leads back to the main path and continues uphill to a fork. Here follow the signpost for the 3rd waterfall. Now you enter the Finsterbach gorge. Subsequently, cross the stream on small bridges and arrive at the end of the path at the foot of the 3rd waterfall. Return the same way to the starting point.

By ÖBB to Sattendorf station. In a few minutes to the town center to the primary school / police station Sattendorf.
Directions
From Villach on the Ossiacher See federal road (B94) to Sattendorf, then turn left into Dorfstraße and continue to the Sattendorf primary school (left side).
From Feldkirchen on the Ossiacher See federal road (B94) to Sattendorf, then turn right into Dorfstraße and continue to the Sattendorf primary school (left side).
