Ellbach Loop (HK15)

With a view of the backside of the Kalvarienberg, we walk a few meters along the Isar cycle path until we cross the Isar via the Isar footbridge. The view opens up to many bird breeding sites towards the Isar reservoir. A short, steep ascent takes us to the backside of the Kalvarienberg. Along the street we pass the animal shelter to the Tölz forest cemetery, which we leave on the left. Here we cross the street. Now we go up a shady forest path, the Faistweg, which is quite steep on the first 500 m. We stay on this path and then emerge from the forest at the Ellbach Heights. We cross the small street and follow the field path until we reach the Tölz street in Ellbach again. We follow this. The signage leads us to the right down into the Ellbach Moor. Enjoy the view of the mountain backdrop behind it from your vantage point! A gravel path continues through the Ellbach Moor; discover the fauna and flora that have developed along the hiking trail! To the Mühlberg we go again a short stretch steeply uphill, past the fish ponds, and then briefly downhill again until we reach the natural outdoor pool Eichmühle along the railway track. Here we walk along the Ellbach, then keep right and follow the path across the "Röcklwiese" on the trails of the Geo-Culture Path. On Eichenstraße we enter a paved street again, cross Dietramszeller street, take the small path to the Old Station Square to Hindenburgstraße. We follow it briefly until we turn right into Tratfeldstraße. We walk along Klammerweiher, follow the path until we get back on the Faistweg, which we then follow back to the starting point.
