Bisse des Miriouges with stroller
Historical irrigation channels that dot the Valais, the bisses are open trenches that carry precious water from torrents to meadows, vineyards, and orchards.
Start near the Kaizen restaurant (Route de Crans-Lens 70). The Bisse des Miriouges begins at the intersection between the Lens-Crans road and the Golf road. Cross the Délègue district and enter the forest. Follow the bisse to the Étang des Miriouges surrounded by fir trees, giving it an appearance reminiscent of Canadian landscapes. Near the lake, picnics and barbecues in available fire pits will be pleasant. Fishing is also possible (with a daily permit). Extend the walk by circling Lake Miriouges. For the return, take the bisse in the opposite direction.
You can also extend the walk towards the Briesses picnic area (an additional 15 minutes). If you are two adults, you can reach the spot with the stroller. However, on about 5-6 meters, you will have to make a steep descent where it might be better to take the child out of the stroller.
Author’s recommendation
The smooth running of a "stroller hike" depends on various parameters, notably the type of stroller used and the terrain.
The path is not accessible to electric wheelchairs.
Arriving at the peaceful Lake Miriouges, you will find spots for a family picnic (remember to book here).
