Located to the north of Bonefeld, we take the beautiful circular hiking trail B3 from the Bonefelder Höhe into the lovely Fockenbach valley, with the lively stream accompanying us along the way. Here we can enjoy pure relaxation, breathe in and out the fresh forest air and forget all our everyday worries. Not far from our starting point is the Bonefelder Heide and Heidschnucken biotope, which is definitely worth a visit - whether before or after our beautiful hike. The heathland is a rarity, as there are very few heathland areas left in Rhineland-Palatinate. In May 2013, a small herd of gray horned Heidschnucken was introduced here. This breed of sheep is ideal for maintaining the heathland, see also NABU Rengsdorf . The Heidschnucken, but also the heathland itself, have a wonderfully calming effect on us and it is simply a joy to watch the animals.
