The Roháče Spálená Ski Resort is part of the municipality of Zuberec and is located in the Western Tatras. The region of Roháče takes its name from the two mighty mountain peaks, Ostrý Roháč (2,088 m) and Plačlivé (2,125 m). They rise abruptly from the fascinating mountain landscape like the devil’s horns, which is why the region is called Roháče. The hike leads past five idyllically situated mountain lakes at the head of the valley, offering beautiful and impressive views of the north faces of the rugged peaks—and a roaring waterfall. A feast for the senses!> At the far left end of the large Zverovka Spalená parking lot 01 (1,020 m), just before the chairlift, we follow the signposted trail slightly to the left toward Ťatliakova Chata. After crossing a bridge and a short ascent, the path joins a paved road. We ignore the next right fork and continue straight ahead. We reach Ťatliakova chata 02 (1,316 m), idyllically situated on the shores of Ťatliakovo jazero. It is open from June 15 to October 30. A spacious dining room with a fireplace invites you to linger. Just before the hut, the trail branches off slightly to the left toward Roháčske plesá, running slightly above the first lake. To the east, on the ridge between Rákoň and Volovec, Trail 75 runs along the border between Slovakia and Poland. We reach another fork in the trail and continue half-right on the path. After a gentle ascent, you reach the second and largest of the Roháčske plesá lakes,Lake 03 (1,529 m). We continue ascending on a maintained trail through mountain pines, passing the third, fourth, and final of the Roháčske plesá 04 (1,683 m). We have reached the highest point of the hike; from here on, the trail descends steeply in tight switchbacks. We ignore the left fork toward Žiarska chata (see Tours 31 and 32). Refreshing mountain water spray awaits you after the signpost for Roháčsky vodopád05 (1,269 m) on a detour to the right toward the approximately 18-meter-high waterfall. We return to the main trail, continue descending through Spálená dolina, and reach a turning area for vehicles. We leave this area after just 50 m, turning slightly to the left onto a forest trail that runs briefly parallel to a stream, then crosses it a short time later, and continues down the valley to the parking lot and starting point.
