This hike is perfect for a leisurely day when you still want to see a lot, and a nice activity for the whole family: We take the chairlift up to the Zuruldi Range and enjoy wonderful panoramic views of Mestia and the neighboring valleys. The sunny meadows on the south side invite you to have a picnic.
To the right of the mountain station, at 2345 m, there is a restaurant that is the only destination for many excursionists. We escape the hustle and take the wide road down to the left, past the small house. The path runs along a birch forest, and in open areas we can look down to the valley to Mestia. On the right, we enjoy almost continuous magnificent views. After 20 minutes the path forks, both paths meet again 10 minutes later; we keep to the right. The path leads over a pasture where the remains of an old power pole, 2360 m, rust away. Shortly before the transmitters, the path climbs a bit steeper; we pass them after a total of 1 hour and go left past the fenced mast to the viewpoint, 2455 m. We return the same way.
