A little under 3000-meter peak with everything that a strenuous route needs. Steep ascent, small easy climbing section, lazy snowfields, meanders, waterfalls and a descent that is not gentle on the knees

Early in the morning, take the first ride on the Texelbahn up to Gigglberg. Arriving here, we immediately follow path no. 2 steeply upwards. There is no warm-up phase here. Past a small lake for irrigation, the path goes up along the forest. Down below it says that we need four and a half hours to reach the three-thousander. This initially doesn’t motivate, but you forget it as you ascend meter by meter. Soon we reach the tree line and climb up the gravel cirques in a side valley. Marmots whistle from afar announcing our arrival. We cross the valley to the left until we reach the first steep section on a saddle. This is only for those free from vertigo. With sure-footedness, we ascend until we reach the summit after three and a half hours. Here we take a good rest and strengthen ourselves with our backpack provisions, as there is no place to eat here. We have a magnificent view of the Ortler area, the entire Texel group, and the Dolomites. In the distance greet the Tschigat and the mighty Lodner. After the obligatory summit photo, we continue the path, initially along the ridge, then turning right to descend the valley. This part, in winters rich in snow, is still covered with snowfields until late July, so we proceed cautiously. We descend the valley, the snow melts and turns the streams into beautiful meanders. We walk down the valley to the right, and it becomes increasingly steep. The path is good, but the three-hour descent is challenging for hikers with weak knees. Exhausted, we arrive at the Nassereith hut, where we refresh ourselves with homemade cake before hiking back up to the Gigglberg top station.
