On clear days, it’s worth taking a short detour to the Gruibinger Wiesle—a peaceful spot with a sense of vastness. There you’ll also find the “Jahrhundertstein,” an art project made of striking stone slabs that reflects the events of the 20th century through words carved into them. A peaceful place to pause
and
reflect.
The trail runs mostly along natural paths, making it particularly pleasant to walk. It’s suitable for families, leisure hikers, and anyone looking for a short, scenic loop. You can stop for refreshments at the Boßlerhaus Nature Friends Lodge or—depending on its opening hours—the Weilheim Ski Lodge.

Century Stone
To create a memorial to the 20th century—with all its human suffering, but also its great advances and achievements—was the task set for the artist. Uli Gsell from Kemnat has mastered this task brilliantly. One hundred meaningful terms from one hundred years reflect the spirit of the times and the history of the 20th century. Enjoy the tranquility and the view from Gruibing’s “Wiesle” and let yourself be inspired.

Roadbook
From the Talenwiesen parking lot, we first head up the Orgelessteige (the right-hand path as you go up the valley). After the first steep section, we keep to the left and follow the Wolfbühlweg. This path takes us past the privately owned Wolfbühlhaus and onto the Alb plateau. We follow the Häringer Steig to the lookout point by the power pole.
We then walk about 250 meters along the gravel path. After that, we continue straight downhill, first along the edge of the forest, then through the forest. Before we reach open terrain again, we turn right toward the Weilheimer Skihütte, which is open on Sundays. We then walk back a short distance and finally descend via the Winterspreitsteige into the valley to the starting point of the hike.
