Interesting facts:
The author Marlene Reidel spent her childhood with six siblings on the farm in Krottenthal. Her parents managed the estate of the Count of Soden. Her homeland is reflected in her children's books such as “Der Lorenz aus dem Krottenthal” and “Anna und die Weiherhex.”
The Weiherhex, who in real life was named Anna Pfaffel, lived with her goat and a cat in a small house by the pond. Due to her slender figure and torn clothes, Anna appeared quite eerie to the village children of Neufraunhofen.
Please note:
The farm in Krottenthal as well as the pond are privately owned.
Please observe from outside!
Wolf Column: In the winter of 1670, a young girl was attacked and killed by a wolf at this location.
