Popular hiking route to one of the most beautiful spots in the Carnic Alps

Starting point: Hubertus Chapel in the Wolayer Valley (parking lot)
Follow the forest road into the Wolayer Valley to the lower Wolayer Alm. Here the path begins to ascend, and after some switchbacks, you stand before the Sprudelbach (beautiful waterfall). Shortly after, you reach the plateau of the upper Wolayer Alm. From there, continue through a hollow where you can already see the monument for the fallen of World War I near the Wolayersee. After another ascent, you reach the destination – the natural jewel Wolayersee.
A walk around the lake or a detour to the nearby state border can enrich this hike. Especially recommended is a stop at the newly renovated Wolayersee Hut, which awaits its visitors with culinary delights.
The hut stamp of the Wolayersee Hut serves as the control stamp.
