The WispertalSteig is a high-quality circular hiking trail in the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park that impressively combines nature, history, and wide views. The starting point is Espenschied, a state-recognized climatic health resort with traditional slate architecture. The route leads through the characteristic notch valleys of the Wisper, past relics of historic slate mining, old charcoal kilns, and cultural-historical traces such as the Lauksburg or the Werkerbrunnen. Along the way, impressive panoramic views repeatedly open up, for example from the Saurierfels or the rock cliff Mehrholz, with views extending to the Soonwald and the Rhine Valley. Dense forests, narrow paths, and quiet brook valleys shape the landscape. The excellent water quality of the Wisper and the special air purity make the tour additionally attractive. As an excellent premium trail, the WispertalSteig offers a varied hiking experience with many cultural and natural highlights.
