Windpark Sternwald

From the Guglwald bus station past the Hotel Guglwald on the Nordwaldkammweg route marked with the blue-white ridge marking to the Iron Gate memorial. Continue on the Nordwaldkammweg along forestry roads past Grubhäusl and Sternhäusel up to the Red Marterl. This brings us to the Windpark Sternwald. Continue on the Nordwaldkammweg to the easternmost propeller, where we leave the classic Nordwaldkammweg to the left, go on the supply road to the base of the wind turbine, and then on a narrow path past the wind turbine across the Czech border to the yellow KCT marking with a rest area. This yellow marking is also the Nordwaldkammweg II. We proceed on the forestry road northwest to the junction leading to the summit of this day hike, Hvezdna 1,012m. Back again on the Nordwaldkammweg II, the razed settlement Kaplicky is soon reached. Previously, the old watchtower still stood here. Here the Nordwaldkammweg II is also left, and the descent proceeds on the road (bike path 1271) downhill to the west (red KCT marking). The last section branching to the left is again a red-marked hiking trail to the Guglwald border crossing.
