Despite the marking of the hiking trails, we recommend always carrying a suitable hiking map for safety reasons, so that you can quickly find a safe area in case of a thunderstorm or emergency.
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After storms, trees may still fall or branches may drop. In adverse weather conditions, natural trails can become muddy and slippery. Such trail impairments must be expected when hiking. Not all rocks or ravines are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is partially required. If you think certain sections of the trail are impassable, you should avoid them.

Roadbook
The start of the circular route is at the station in Wilgartswiesen. From there it goes to Aufels. After Aufels we reach the remains of Wilgartsburg via Wilgartswiesen. Via Wolfsgrube, Erikastollen, Deichenwand as well as Falkenburg, the route returns to the starting point at Wilgartswiesen station.
