The 5 bathing spots located by the lake are good places to rest. The bathing spot in Hohenhude is a first short break after about 7.5 km. The bathing spot at the campsite in Wrohe (10.5 km) has a kiosk/snack bar (seasonal opening hours). In Wrohe itself, there is a nice viewpoint with benches on the village street, which is also suitable as a resting place.
We took a longer break on the Tüteberg, where, with good visibility, you can see from the Hüttener Mountains to Kiel. Alternatively, you can stop at Cafe Zeit in Westensee (open only on weekends). There is also a place to eat at the Westensee bathing spot.
After a short break at Bossee, the route goes through the hinterland of Felde past its bathing spot back to the starting point, where you can reward yourself for the route at the ice cream café.

After heavy rain and high water levels in the Eider, the crossings in the lowlands at Ahrensee and in the Eider valley near Marutendorf can be very soft or even flooded.
From Wrohe, take a (traffic-calmed on weekends) road to Westensee. At the end of Gut Westensee, turn immediately diagonally left into the "Hochzeitsweg" which leads us along the edge of the fields. After crossing a road and a shift at the field edge, turn left at a crossroads over the field towards the Tüteberg.
A tricky point is reached after the sandy path that leads up from the street "Am See". Once entering the forest here, four paths branch off. We choose the far left one, which initially still runs along the edge of the forest. It then merges into the "Birkenweg". From here, various paths lead northeast, all ultimately returning to Felde station. Here we chose the variant via the bathing spot.
The difficulty "medium" cannot be changed afterwards - I probably overlooked that at the very beginning, technically the route - like any in Schleswig-Holstein - is easy. (But I do not want to re-enter it just for that.)
