On winding paths through chestnuts, pines, and heather, mysterious places made of sandstone line up, each telling wondrous stories for both young and old.
Laura Hut: In 1845, district judge Wilhelm Retzer built this hunting hut. Krummholzer Chair: In the 2nd and 3rd centuries, Romans quarried stones here for coffins and the city wall in Worms. Soup Bowl: From the 12th to 18th centuries, a boundary stone for district borders and meeting place for cheerful drinking after border inspections. Leininger Boundary Stone: Boundary stone of the counts of Leiningen-Hardenburg from 1595. Canapé: Hermitage, inhabited from the 14th to 16th centuries. Devil's Bench: A bench carved into the rock with another boundary stone of the Leininger. Devil's Wall: Rock reef in the layer of Upper Bunter Sandstone. Roman Wagon Tracks: The iron-shod wheels of the wagons heavily laden with stones from the Krummholzer Chair by the Romans have worn these nearly 2,000-year-old tracks into the rock. Love Letterbox: Old legends promise that lonely maidens who insert a leaf find a suitor. Wallet: Whoever adds a stone to this rock crevice will become rich.

Roadbook
We start at the parking lot "Felsenberg-Berntal" always following the sign "Seven Forest Wonders: Historic Circular Hiking Route Leistadt". After crossing the L517, we walk slightly uphill towards the cemetery. We follow the left path past the cemetery uphill towards Grasweg and the weekend house area. At the end of the path, turn left through the area. Following the marking, we reach the next weekend house area "Rotsteig" after a few kilometers, which we only briefly touch as we keep right. At the boundary stone, we turn left and walk along a heath-lined path to the Laura Hut. After a few hundred meters, we turn left and walk uphill to visit the other forest wonders. At the Leininger boundary stone, but also at many other places, there are picnic groups for a rest. After we make a sharp left turn, we come downhill to the last three forest wonders: the Roman wagon tracks, the love letterbox, and the wallet. The marking leads us through the weekend house area Rotsteig through Leistadt. After crossing the main road (possibility to stop at "Lilo's Woistubb") into Freinsheimer Straße, we keep left and can see our starting point, the parking lot "Felsenberg Berntal", on the left after a few meters.
