A full immersion among the vineyards of Soave Classico, a place recognized as a world heritage site of humanity and agriculture.

The town is surrounded by hills typical for the production of Soave Classico Wine, a zone recognized as a controlled designation of origin.

Starting from the beautiful fortified village of Soave, with the Scaliger Castle, climb circling the Monte Foscarino to the east to enjoy the delightful view over the lower Valdalpone.

On the clearest days, it is possible to admire to the south the Euganean Hills and the nearby Berici Hills.

Upon reaching Fittà, a visit to the village is recommended to glimpse the charming panoramic points that will open up to view. On the return, circling the Monte Foscarino from the west, one can appreciate the lower Val Tramigna and the Veronese plain.

Especially enjoyable during the traditional Soave event of the Grape Festival, third weekend of September, the first festival of its kind in all Italy.

    Author’s recommendation

You can choose to follow the route starting from the Santuario della Bassanella and immediately taking the road towards the Castle since the path is circular except for the last section leading to Fittà.

    Equipment

Hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always better to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to face unexpected events such as a sudden storm or a loss of energy: even the unexpected is part of the fun!

What to bring on a hike:

    - Appropriate footwear with non-slip sculpted soles, preferably high to avoid ankle problems

    - Adequate water supply based on your needs (1 to 2 liters considering temperature, availability of refills, duration of the route)

    - Snacks (e.g., dried fruit or bars)

    - Windproof and rainproof jacket

    - Spare shirt and socks

    - Sunscreen

    - Sunglasses

    - Gloves and hat in the winter months

    - GPX track loaded on the phone and used with specific apps (View Ranger is recommended)
