On the scenic and forest-structured circular trail, the “nature visitor” receives diverse insights into the forest ecosystem at ten information stations. Secured viewing rocks offer repeated wide views and glimpses into the Dahner Felsenland. The bird teaching trail along the Eichelberg provides interesting information about the local birdlife.

Especially in autumn, be aware that leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may fall or branches may break off afterward. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you feel certain sections are impassable, you should detour. Despite the “unmistakable” marking of the premium hiking trails, we recommend always carrying a suitable hiking map for safety, so that in case of a thunderstorm or emergency, you can quickly reach a safe area.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures due to forestry work or hunting on this platform. However, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you encounter closures or detours on site, please pay attention to the signs for your own safety.

Roadbook
We start at the parking lot of the Schindhard sports ground west of Schindhard. Before we turn left onto the sports area, a path leads us uphill to the right. Through a sparse pine forest, we reach a viewpoint called “Wasgaublick”. Here we turn right and follow the sign towards the mountain panorama.
It leads us to a fork in the path where we now turn left to reach the mountain panorama on Kahlenberg. From here, we have, among other things, a magnificent view of the Alt-Dahn castle ruins. The path initially goes downhill, then continues relatively flat straight ahead until we reach a wider service road at the edge of the forest. Here we go right down to the country road at the outskirts of Schindhard, which we follow briefly to the right before immediately turning left at the next opportunity.
We reach Landauer Straße, which leads to the left. At the following fork in the path, we again choose the left option. At the Busenberg water supply house, we turn right twice in quick succession and are now on the Busenberger wooden shoe path. It leads us to the “Hexenplätzel”. Onwards to the Kelterhaus and from there once more to the right into the forest. At this point, there are also signposts to the Lourdes Grotto and the bird teaching trail. We follow the path up to the viewpoint on the Eichelberg and around the Eckfelsen again down until we reach a parking lot and the country road between Schindhard and Busenberg.
We cross the road and hike on the other side following the markings of the Wald-Erlebnisweg below the Eilöchel rock. After the Eilöchel, we soon reach the edge of the forest again, from where a right turn leads to a great view over the meadows up to the Alt-Dahn castle massif. After a short distance, it goes left through meadows into the valley to the country road, which we follow right to the outskirts of Schindhard. Here, we turn left into Burgstraße and shortly thereafter are back at the Schindhard sports ground, the starting point.
