The trail starts from the parking of the village of Palios Agios Athanasios. It goes up around the perimeter of the village and then follows a forest road until almost 1800m. Then a path climbs up to the top of Piperitsa peak.
On the way back we follow another trail going down the ridge to the South and when we meet the forest road that leads West to the village of Keli, we turn right. When we reach an area with meadows we turn left, towards the east to return to the village
The vegetation below is a beech forest, but later the path emerges into an alpine landscape. It is suitable for hiking with a snowy landscape
