A beautiful route through the typical landscape of the southern Bliesgau with species-rich orchards, great panoramic views, and calcareous dry grasslands where wild orchids grow, among others. The highlight of the circular hike is the namesake "Vogesenblick" as a rest stop above Seyweiler.
The circular hiking trail "Vogesenblick" is a moderate and very varied trail. Besides the outdoor pool in Walsheim and the interesting Duppstein in the center of Walsheim, the route passes the ruins of the former Walsheim Brewery. Though not publicly accessible, it can be visited by prior arrangement on a guided tour with a nature and landscape guide (information available at Saarpfalz-Touristik). A longer forest section leads above Walsheim and Bliesdalheim towards Pinningen to the namesake "Vogesenblick" as a rest stop. A kind of compass there explains what can be seen in the distance at two benches. The rest stop is equally popular among hikers and cyclists. The trail then continues via the so-called "Duser Straße" up to above Medelsheim. This section is especially beautiful and charming in every season! The route ends after a few kilometers downhill in Walsheim at the outdoor pool.
Author’s recommendation
Read the information on the displayed panels about what makes the Bliesgau biosphere so special. In summer months, you can also cool off at the outdoor pool. It is very popular due to its idyllic and natural setting.

Roadbook
The start is at the hiking parking lot of Campingplatz Walsheim. The recommended walking direction leads from the parking lot to the main street and then left out of the village. Based on hiking experience, we describe the hike here in the opposite direction:
At Walsheim's main street, the path leads right past the village shop of Haus Sonne and the Duppstein. Through the village, it goes to the former brewery and directly at the Kneipp basin, the stairs lead up. At the top, the path turns right up the hill. In the forest, the route again turns right and passes Haus Sonne, always further into the forest to a monument. It continues through the forest and occasionally past meadows to a dip, which then goes uphill again towards the viewpoint "Vogesenblick." This stretch goes straight for several kilometers until it leads above Seyweiler to Medelsheim. However, Medelsheim is not traversed. The path turns right at the height and back to Walsheim. Before the hike reaches Walsheim's main street, the path goes through a section of forest and then downhill past meadow slopes into the village. Upon entering the village, the path turns left and shortly thereafter right back to the campsite.
