From the parking lot and the Moosalp bus stop, the path first leads briefly along the ski slope, which is not very attractive in summer, before you soon turn onto the hiking trail. From here, it is pure nature, and the ascent proceeds over alpine meadows up to the Hälmine ridge, which stretches along a long broad ridge to the Violenhorn. From here you have an incredible 360-degree view including the neighboring Augstbordhorn and on the other side down into the Rhone Valley. Opposite majestically towers the Bietschhorn, drawing all eyes onto itself.
On the descent, the route via Hienergrätji to Ober Gibidum is worthwhile, to then hike back east towards the starting point at the Moosalp.
