The Versalspitze in the southern tip of the Verwall group is considered one of the elite viewpoints of Vorarlberg due to its prominent location over the Montafon valley end. On the horizon, the Bernina greets you.
The hiking signpost »Heilbronner Hütte« directs us at the Zeinisjoch alpine inn to an ascending mountain hiking trail. From a tunnel outlet with a creek bridge, the pleasant route leads over open dwarf pine slopes and past the Zeinissee. On the left, the Versalspitze already dominates the scene. Behind the Silvretta high alpine road, the exciting tour area of the Saarbrücker Hütte emerges. After a slight loss of elevation, we cross the Verbellabach and come to the Verbellaalpe, located in an alpine bowl, at 1938 m.Shortly after the possible refreshment stop, the sign »Versalspitze« points to an initially challenging trail over a bushy slope. Only dwarf shrubs line the enjoyable path to a ledge. Further on, it continues through a high basin covered with grassy ground. Beautiful views are gained into the high valley of the Verbellabach, flanked by the Verbellakopf and the Valschaviel mountains.
