Val Codera, "Tracciolino"
A little train emerges hissing from the darkness, rattles over a bridge, disappears briefly into the next tunnel, then heads boldly along a track carved from the rock into a gloomy valley corner. A boy's dream? Only the noble Apache is missing, but on the "Tracciolino" you mostly encounter a few hikers, and the railway, once built in connection with the hydroelectric power plant in Valle dei Ratti, has long since stopped running. Around a rocky corner and over a second bridge, then uphill to a fork. Here follow the sign "San Giorgio"; just above the alpine huts of Cii, 851 m, the path joins the "Tracciolino". It leads around a rocky corner into the Val Grande, which narrows into a wild gorge, crossed by a solid bridge. Below Cola, 1018 m, which has a direct access from San Giorgio (shortcut), it goes into the third ravine, the Val Revelaso. At its exit, after a longer traverse through steep rocks, you reach a fork: right down to San Giorgio, straight ahead further into Valle dei Ratti. And at least for a little
