V2 North Path

Start/finish is the parking lot at the Festplatz in the center of Vellmar. For the circular route counterclockwise, the start initially goes east along the Ahne.

From the parking lot, Brüder-Grimm-Straße can be crossed either over or under.

The path is marked with V2 (yellow).

After a few meters, we cross the Ahne for the first time. The path leads past the Mühlenweg playground until shortly after the Ahne is crossed again.

At the end of the path, turn left into Frommershäuser Straße. At the police station, Frommershäuser Straße is crossed.

From there, the path goes slightly uphill through Hopfenbergstraße, past another playground and fish ponds.

At the top, keep right and continue past a barn towards the Frommershausen barbecue hut. You can rest at the barbecue hut if needed.

From the barbecue hut, continue north (left). The path marking here is not optimal.

At the following option, turn left. From here you already have a nice panoramic view over Vellmar towards Habichtswald and Kassel.

Upon reaching the Frommershausen development, keep right and follow along the Geburtsbaum area towards the district road.

The district road is crossed shortly after the town sign.

On the street "Ziegenbockswiese," you reach the Frommershausen sports field. Turn right there and continue until you reach the riding stable.

At the farm, turn left and continue to the end of the path. Turn left again there and head towards the built-up area. Walk around the playground and shortly after keep right. The path passes the club house of the association FF Frommershausen. It ends at the state road 3386. Now the L3386 must be crossed. Then follow the path along the district road. Make sure to go straight and not left (white diamond). At the end of the path, turn left. Now you have to walk a few meters on the district road before a dirt path branches off to the left.

Follow the dirt path to the end – then turn left.

After the second barn (the one with the gable roof is meant) turn right and immediately after crossing the Elsche turn left. The path now runs parallel to the Elsche and also goes under federal road 7. You reach the old town center of Obervellmar. Continue following the Elsche until you reach the Ahne park.

In the Ahne park, you meet the Ahne again. Through the park along the stream, after some time you reach the starting point again after passing under the B7 once more.
