The Urederra River Source is a protected natural area, almost idyllic, due to its unparalleled beauty and its turquoise waters that you won't find in any other river in Navarra. Located in the Urbasa-Andía Natural Park, it is the natural and main outlet of the important aquifer formed in the karstic massif of Urbasa. A natural paradise where you will discover turquoise water pools among a lush beech forest. The 6 km route (round trip) starts from the Baquedano reception area located at the entrance of the village and is an impressive walk of approximately 2 hours. Parking vehicles in the reception area and tourist information point parking lot is mandatory. Parking in the village or anywhere else is not allowed. The daily visitor capacity to the Natural Reserve is 500 people, and prior to the visit, it is necessary to make and pay for the parking access reservation through the website https://urederra.amescoa.com
START: Baquedano reception area and tourist information point. After wandering through the village, continue along a forest track and after passing an iron gate, the path forks. On the way out you must follow the left path which descends and stays closer to the river, and return ascending along the eastern path, which is higher. Along the trail, waterfalls and numerous turquoise water pools formed as a result of the karstic phenomenon occur, whereby water filters through cracks in the rocks, emerging repeatedly from the depths of the earth. The visit must be made exclusively on the marked trail, respecting fences, access limitations, and general access to the final section inside the natural reserve is prohibited for environmental conservation reasons.
