Urbach Loop, Variant A

We start towards Bornich. In front of the country inn "Nassauer Hof" we turn right into Brückenstraße and leave it again after about 50 m to the left. On the outskirts of Weisel, the signs lead us onto the paved "Schäfersgraben". We follow this for 500 m towards Harbacher Mühle and then turn left.

We follow the signs across fields and meadows and enjoy wonderful wide views over Hunsrück and Taunus. At the water hut, we cross the L338 and arrive at the Bornich "Adolfseiche".

We follow the path that leads us towards the Urbach valley. Here we stay on the right side of the Urbach and follow it for about 2 km. Then we descend to the Urbach and cross it. Here, the path variants A and C diverge. We take the path above leading up to the outskirts of Dörscheid and walk below Dörscheid again towards Weisel.

At the hairpin of the paved service road, we meet the path variants B and C. At the intersection Brückenstraße / Achterweg, we can enjoy another wonderful view at the pavilion. Via Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße, which leads into Schulstraße, we return to the sports field and to the starting point of our tour.

Postscript February 2023:

Unfortunately, we had to realize that almost all path signs have been "manipulated." Signs were torn down or smeared, posts were pulled out and stolen, or reinstalled upside down.

Initially, we tried to replace the missing signs, but now there is a lack of new signs and capacity to constantly check the paths.

Therefore, we strongly recommend using navigation and looking at the map for the hike on these routes.

At this point, one can only speculate about the reasons for so much vandalism.
