Upper Panorama Trail from Aitern

We start our walking tour at Auf den Winden, a small mountain pass between the main village of Aitern and its hamlet Rollsbach. From the parking lot we follow the signs "Zugang" Upper Panorama Trail to the signpost location "Fliegerhütte". Next to the community garage the paved path leads uphill but soon turns into a wide gravel/hiking trail after just a few meters. After 400 meters the Fliegerhütte is reached. We stay on the wide path and continue straight ahead, although we could also steeply climb right up to Kälberweid. The path is marked as a circular route and thus easily walkable in both directions. But we stay, as described, on the wide Lärchenweg, which runs idyllically westward. After 1.5 kilometers we pass the signpost location "Lärchenweg", but leave it behind to enter a forest area and after about 600 meters follow the path to the right (attention: there is no signpost location and no path symbol here. We follow the yellow diamond.) Above the Lärchenweg the path now leads towards the Schweizer Hütte, which soon comes into our view after a few minutes' walk. On beautiful days and clear visibility, a wonderful view of the snow-covered Alpine chain opens up. We walk about 200 meters further until we discover a sun lounger and a resting place at Kälberweid. We unpack our snack and enjoy the wonderful panorama from here. 
After spending some time here, it is time to head back. At the crossroads where four paths meet, we keep right and follow the signs of the upper panorama trail on a wide hiking path downhill back to the Fliegerhütte. After a short descent, it is reached again. On the now familiar path we return to the starting point of the route "Auf den Winden".
