If you are looking for an easy, beautiful and not too long hike close to the city, you will find what you are looking for in both Perlacher Forst and the Isar Valley, both of which are among Munich's most popular leisure areas. The tour from Unterhaching to Hinterbrühl combines the advantages of both and offers relaxing forest paths as well as riverside walks in a particularly diverse section of the Isar valley, where five streams run side by side at Maria Einsiedel: Maria-Einsiedel-Bach, Ländkanal, Werkkanal, Isar and Auer Mühlbach. Other sights include the Perlacher Muggl with its mountain panorama, which was only filled in with the excavation of the McGraw ditch in 1970, the rock faces on the high banks of the Isar and the rafts from Wolfratshausen arriving at the Ländkanal in the afternoon.
From Unterhaching station, we walk westwards through the traffic-calmed town center to Rathausplatz and turn left into the town park. We cross it to the right (west) and walk past the chapel on the Scheilweg to Isartalstraße. We walk along the road out of Unterhaching, cross under the A 995 highway and enter Perlacher Forst. We continue straight ahead (Winkelweg-Geräumt) and cross three intersecting Geräumte. 40 m after crossing the third, the Wörnbrunner Geräumt, we branch off diagonally left onto a narrow forest path. After 400 m, this leads into the transverse Jägersteig; here we keep left, cross the wide Mitter-Geräumt straight ahead and after 50 m turn right onto a path to the Perlacher Muggl. The path leads steeply up to the "Vorgipfel", keeping to the left briefly downhill again and finally to the summit of the Perlacher Muggl with a pavilion and information boards explaining the mountain panorama and the history of the Perlacher Forest. On the way back, we turn left and walk to
