The start of the route is almost outside Ulm since the long-distance bus stop is not located in the city center.
Walk on foot through the city center until the path follows the rivers out of town.
Author’s recommendation
It probably would have looked nicer to walk on the other side of the Iller, but I cannot assess that for now.
For evening routes in this area, a good mosquito spray is definitely important.

Roadbook
First through the city, the route starts to become interesting from the Ulm Minster onwards. On the way to the Danube, among other things, through the old town.
Along the Danube, you see many recreational athletes, and at the point where the Iller flows into the Danube, unfortunately, it becomes boring for a longer time. While there is dense shrubbery on the bank, offering hardly any view of the Iller, the other side is not much nicer due to dense forestation.
It becomes somewhat interesting intermittently at the fields, where you temporarily have a nice distant view of Ulm.
In the large forest and floodplain area Illerholz, I take the only opportunity to stop at the forest inn Zum Silberwald.
Until shortly before sunset, I continue along the Iller Canal until just before Senden, where I find an open field and set up my small tent to spend the night there beside grazing deer and the waning moon.
