Pure nature and wonderful views of Würzbach pond and the village. A hike through the flora and fauna of the unique cultural landscape of the northern Bliesgau with deciduous forests and Buntsandstein rock formations.
Beautiful route through the forest, past natural beauties and idyllic streams. There's something for everyone here.
The route starts at the large parking lot at the Würzbachhalle, close to the Würzbach pond, which we save for the end. It starts on the left bank of the pond, where the path initially follows the sign of the Mariannenweg as well.
Via the Triebscheider Farm, the idyllic Geißbachtal, and the UHU Fountain, it goes over the 369m high Franzosenkopf back to the Würzbach pond.
Here you can also take a look at the beautiful Junkerwald manor from 1908. At the end is the Annahof, also called the "Round Building." A gem from the baroque era, unique for the whole region, best enjoyed with a refreshment on the garden terrace overlooking the lake.

The UHU Fountain along the way was created in 1973 by bird enthusiasts from the "Federation for Bird Protection." In 2013, the facility was completely renovated. It offers beautiful outdoor seating areas as well as a small hut that provides shelter from the rain. Below the hut is a small pond. An ideal spot for a cozy rest.

Roadbook
From the starting point, the path runs along the shore of the Würzbach pond on a wide gravel path, past the Red Building, the Junkerwald, to the fisherman's hut at the Griesweiher after about 2 km. Over the so-called "Poststeig," it continues to the Triebscheider Farm. Attention, the path runs through an underpass beneath the railway tracks. The path does not run directly along the railway tracks! After the underpass, the path turns left onto the Poststeig and leads the hiker up stairs to the Triebscheider Farm. The path continues past horse paddocks, a racetrack, and the Bishop's House into the Geißbachtal valley.
Through the Frohnsbachtal nature reserve, it now goes steeply uphill to the "UHU Fountain," after which the path is named. There at the "UHU Fountain" there is a resting area with a shelter, located by an idyllic pond. Here you can gather strength for the last section of the climb. After the ascent, the route reaches the saddle between Franzosenberg and Lambertsberg.
The path on the ridge is relaxing. You have overcome the highest point of the route and walk gently downhill until we reach the "Hexentanzplatz" below the Kieselberg. There we find a covered resting place to sit down and reflect on the past route.
From here the path heads towards Allmend and slowly leads down into the valley. Soon you recognize the Sängerklause on the left, and then the first houses appear, while rocks tower on the slope to the right. The path finally leads into an asphalt road that leads into Marxstraße. With an unused pasture on the right and the forest on the left, it leads the last meters until you finally reach the Würzbach pond again.
