Tourist-Information Nonnenhorn
You can expect a very varied round through the "hinterland" of Nonnenhorn to the beautiful Degersee and Schleinsee with wonderful panoramic views.
You pass through the places Selmnau, Poppis, Riedensweiler, Wettis, Busenhaus, Nitzenweiler, Gattnau and Retterschen.
The route partly runs on small roads, but often also on field paths, forest paths, and meadow paths (pay attention to good footwear).
There are numerous places to stop for refreshments; however, in the off-season you should watch the opening times of the businesses!
Points of interest along the route, in addition to the two lakes, include the Antonius Chapel, the Maria Assumption Chapel at the Schleinsee estate, or the herb garden on Nunzenberg.
Since the route covers about 19 km, some fitness is required, but only small inclines need to be managed.

Back again, go straight down the field/meadow path, then do not follow the curve but at the "insect hotel" take the path straight through the orchards. After about 150 m turn onto the forest path towards Poppis/Gattnau. On the forest path, after about 100 m take the small footpath to the left through the forest, cross the bridge and go a bit up the meadow. Then turn left along Wiewsenweg, and then immediately right again. You reach a paved path and at the small crossroads take the path to the right towards Poppis. There turn right onto the district road and after the underpass immediately left again up the path (past the "hail cannon"). Follow the road towards Nitzenweiler/Schleinsee and then turn right onto the field path (sign Anniversary Path Lake Constance district on a tree...). At the next fork turn right towards Degersee/Wettis. At the entrance to the forest take the 2nd path on the left (always straight ahead). After leaving the forest choose the road to Wettis-Weiler Degersee (right). At the large signpost turn left following the yellow sign (marking yellow diamond on white background) towards Weiler Degersee...Schleinsee... After the forest turn left and immediately left again (direction Degersee, Schleinsee). After a few meters left again towards Kressbronn/Wielandsweiler. You pass Degerseestüble (place to eat) and the lido. Then you reach Busenhaus and at the crossroad take left and then immediately right the forest path (blue marking) towards Schleinsee, Nitzenweiler. (This lake is privately owned, no swimming allowed.) You reach a beautiful viewpoint at the Schleinsee estate (place to eat). At the next crossroad first left and then immediately right onto the field path. You reach the road again via small stairs and go past the hiking car park and the maize labyrinth (tip for children in summer!) straight up the forest path. At the next signpost Gattnau is the destination. You go a bit along B31, through the underpass and then first left and immediately right again. Take the small path straight down (waymark Jakobsmuschel). In Gattnau you walk a bit along the main street and then either immediately take the first possibility left past the Forst inn to Obermühle (shortcut) or - according to the route plan - the 2nd possibility left to Nunzenberg. After a few meters turn sharply left into Nunzenbergweg and then immediately left again. You pass a beautiful viewpoint and herb garden. Straight ahead (across the street) take the field path towards Obermühle. Follow the road and go straight on to Retterschen. There keep right and (after the curve) turn left to Sonnenhorf. Pass the Hotel Sonnenhof on the right and then go straight down the path through the small underpass. Immediately after, turn left onto the field path and return to the starting point over Mauthausstraße and Forstgartenweg.
