Tschierv - Fuldera

We start our hike at the "La Vopa" inn in Tschierv. A road leads us out of the village past a beautiful flower meadow and a small stream. We turn left onto a gravel path and cross a larch/spruce forest. After about 15 minutes of hiking, there is a barbecue and rest area with benches. A little further on, after a few minutes, we turn left into a large road and climb towards Alp Sadra. In the spruce and larch forest, blueberry bushes form a dense carpet. After about 50 minutes of hiking, we enter a narrow forest path. In this area mother cows graze with their calves. We pass many large anthills in the forest and soon come to a large and marshy plain, the Funtauna Grossa. We are now at 1922 m a.s.l. We cross the stream on a simple wooden footbridge and walk through the forest again, where alpine roses and blueberries grow. Now the path widens into a road to Alp Sadra at 2046 m a.s.l. with a magnificent view of the Val Müstair. We recognise Fuldera, further down the valley Valchava and Sta. Maria and on the opposite slope Lü and Lüsai. From Alp Sadra down to Fuldera our hike takes another good hour.
