Fischleintal, Villnößtal, Grödnertal, Mittagstal, Val Canali, Val Prampèr, Val San Lucano / Angheraz – they are among the recognized most beautiful valleys of the Dolomites. But the Tschamintal in the Rosengarten probably puts them all in the shade. How the rock bastions of the Grasleiten and Valbona groups rise like pillars against the sky in the middle part near Rechter Leger is unique even in the Dolomites, which are full of natural beauty. If you feel fit, the further ascent to the Grasleiten hut, located 560 meters higher in a huge rock basin and tended in summer, is worthwhile.
From the Weißlahnbad hiking parking lot, we walk a short distance back along the access road to the roundabout and here down to the northeast on an asphalt road into the valley bottom of the Tschamintal, where we cross the Tschaminbach to the right over the bridge and thus reach the Tschamin Schwaige, 1200 m. We hike between Steger Säge on the left and the restaurant on the right and on the wide footpath no. 3 along the right side of the valley through the forest uphill to the first right turnoff of path no. 13B and 14. Passing a second right turnoff, we continue steeply above the gorge of the Tschamintal partly in switchbacks uphill to a crossing forest road. On this, we go 20 m left to the crucifix “Furchbild”, 1420 m. Along the road we gently continue uphill to a fork. Here we keep left and soon afterwards traverse the Tschaminbach, then go on the left side of the valley through the light forest uphill to the meadow at Schäfer Leger, 1485 m. On a wide footpath (no. 3) we now ascend
