This very beautiful tour at the foot of the Grimming offers views into the Ennstal valley, the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern. To the southwest, we see the Schladminger Tauern, to the northeast we look into the Dead Mountains.

Start from Niederstuttern at the torrent control on a beautiful path uphill to the Grimminghütte. Here we have earned a first rest. Behind the hut, follow the signposts (45 min to Tressenstein). It starts off easy, then becomes increasingly steeper, partly over roots and large stones, up to the magnificent viewpoint Tressenstein. Surefootedness required!

In the forest, there are some shortcuts and variants laid out, please stay on the marked path!

The descent goes back to the Grimminghütte. Then, at the fork, this time do not turn off towards Niederstuttern but follow the signposts towards Trautenfels. Gently downhill, passing the church ruins of Neuhaus (here you can alternatively choose the Bible Trail), we soon reach the Raumberg-Gumpenstein Teaching and Research Center. From there, it is not far to Trautenfels Castle and the bus.
