TRANSUMANZA PATH CAI path 151

This path ascends from Merendaore to Campogrosso avoiding paved road sections. The beginning is part of the pedestrian route used for forest cultivation. After the La Guardia Refuge it approaches the military road built in 1917. The start of this path 151 has been moved since 2008 to the characteristic rock, the Sengio delle Campane (m. 858) along the Merendaore Campogrosso road. A path is taken through the forest crossing two forestry roads, on the second, in the Raute locality near a fountain, it joins path 126 (m 1021). The path with the two numbers 151 and 126 climbs to the La Guardia refuge (m 1131,) through an area of scattered boulders. From the refuge, the subsequent switchbacks of the road to Campogrosso are cut following sometimes traces of path, then the road is followed for 400 m (between the switchbacks of q. m1245 1283), and then again by path to reach the meadows below the Campogrosso Refuge. Along the military carriageway one reaches the Campogrosso Refuge (m 1456)
