Trailschleife "Copper-Jasper Path"
Demanding and multifaceted path in varied terrain with ascents and descents that require surefootedness. Along the way, hikers find interesting information about the namesakes of the path: copper and jasper.
On mostly earthy, natural paths through shady forests and open meadow landscapes, there is interesting information about the namesakes of the path: copper and jasper. Even today, hidden discovery sites of red, yellow, and green jasper can be found along the path. After a longer forest section, the view opens into the Hunsrück region. Above Hintertiefenbach – also known as Pulverloch – a sign informs that rare orchids grow here. In the Fischbach valley, the hiking trail runs in the forest in a wide arc around Fischbach towards the Copper Mine (side path 800 m). The Traumschleife and the small Traumschleifchen "Fischbacher Kupferspuren" run partly on the same route section. Here there is information about copper and the mine. Afterwards, the trail leads into the Hosenbach valley. Between 1851 and 1855, six agate grinding wheels were verifiably constructed on the Hosenbach.
In 2013, the hiking trail was awarded 2nd place in the vote for "Germany’s most beautiful hiking trail."

Roadbook
Route description from Niederwörresbach, clockwise direction:
We start at the hiking car park in Niederwörresbach. Through the wooden entrance gate, we go onto a bridge where we cross the stream. On the first section of the path, we first hike uphill until we are rewarded after about 2 km with two impressive viewpoints and a sensory bench. Here we also learn more about jasper, which is found in the region and whose mining at times formed the economic basis of the Niederwörresbach grinding workshops, from information boards.
Then it goes downhill. We reach the shelter in the "Wahlenbach." A longer ascent follows; we pass the local community of Gerach and cross the K34. After a few meters, at kilometer 5.5, there is a viewpoint with a sensory bench inviting you to let your gaze wander. The next 2 km lead downhill, past two more viewpoints and an orchid meadow. After further ascents and descents, we reach the town of Hintertiefenbach (also called the "Pulverloch") – so far we have covered around 9 km. Then we pass through another entrance gate and first go uphill through the forest before the descent to Fischbach begins. We cross the L160 and reach Fischbach. At a height of about 240 m, this is the lowest point of the Copper-Jasper Path. Now it continues uphill. We come to a shelter and follow the path further, which now partly runs on the "mining circular trail." Along the way, we learn more about copper. Downhill, we finally reach an impressive waterfall. From here, we have the opportunity on a side path to visit the copper mine about 800 m away. On the main path, it goes uphill again, interrupted by some descents. Before we go downhill again on the last kilometer back to Niederwörresbach, we can once again enjoy the impressive landscape from two viewpoints. Back at our starting point in Niederwörresbach, dining options invite you to end the hiking day comfortably.

Our tips for an effortless hiking pleasure
Hiking is the perfect sport. With the right clothing and shoes, it is twice as fun. Functional clothing, poles, and breathable backpacks are pleasant when hiking. But good shoes are essential. Robust jogging or casual shoes are at best suitable only for short distances on even paths. For longer trails, we recommend sturdy hiking boots with a grippy, non-slip sole. Also think of sun protection and take a drink with you. One liter of water is ideal.
