As if to serve as a counterpoint to the white harbor town, the lighthouse stands perched on the cliffs south of the Badia de Cadaqués. From here, you’ll enjoy a view of Cadaqués and its coves unlike any other. The easy hike to this outpost high above the sea leads through old olive groves and past an inviting sandy cove where you can take a dip. The fact that the lighthouse is now a beautiful hiking destination is thanks to the resistance of the residents of Cadaqués, who fought hard against its demolition.
At Platja Gran in Cadaqués, we turn south and walk along the coastal road, past the beaches of Port Doguer and Llanner. At the Hotel Llané Petit, we turn right onto Carrer de Sa Jorneta until we reach the walled parking lot on the left, where we leave the GR trail and follow the signs toward Far de Cala Nans. The road leads us to Platja Sa Conca, after which the path climbs through an upscale residential neighborhood. The lighthouse comes into view; a stone tower can be seen at the top right. Our path descends again over natural stone paving and crosses the small bridge over the Rec Fondo; shortly afterward, you can descend to Platja sa Sabolla via a wooden post on the left. Continuing straight ahead, we reach the bridge over the gorge of the same name; the path then runs level—with two handrails providing support along the way—toward the Cala Nans Lighthouse, which doesn’t come into view until the very last moment.
