On the high-altitude hike above Val Colla, we come across a beautiful self-catering hut and enjoy an extensive view from the summits of Monte Bar and Caval Drossa.
Starting from Bidogno in Val Colla, we hike to sunny, scenic heights. First, a famous Way of the Cross leads us up to the pilgrimage church S. Maria delle Grazie. From here, we ascend over south-facing slopes to Alpe Musgatina, where goats graze in the summer months. We climb up to the summit of Monte Bar via the beautifully located Capanna Monte Bar, one of the most beautiful self-catering huts in Ticino, where a magnificent panorama awaits us. Over free, grassy mountain ridges, we reach the neighboring summit of Caval Drossa. On the descent path to Alpe Rompiago is the viewpoint Motto della Croce. Finally, a service road leads us back to Bidogno.
