Start of the route at the Silbertal parking lot.
Opposite the junction of the road to Benjental, you have to cross the street. Continue on the path parallel to the road to Forsthaus Silbertal. At Forsthaus Silbertal begins the path marked Pfälzer Hüttensteig, follow this to the Waldhaus Lambertskreuz. Dining option https://www.lambertskreuz.eu/
Well strengthened, begin the summit route to the Drachenfels south and west peaks. Initially continue with the Hüttensteig marker. From the 7-Ways junction, follow the dragon symbol or blue stripe. On the summit plateau, first go to the south rock (detour to the dragon cave and further at the south rock to the viewing chamber) https://www.bad-duerkheim.de/kultur-tourismus/sehen-erleben/sehenswuerdigkeiten/#/pois/RPT/77d171fd-f4be-4b0a-8310-4e010c2f76ff/drachenfels
Then back to Lambertskreuz and the comfortable path, marked N or yellow stripe and clock, back via Kurpfalzpark and connecting path to the parking lot.

Author’s recommendation
Before you go all the way out to the south rock, there is a secured path with railing and stairs to the dragon cave (dead end). At the top of the south rock, stone steps lead down to the viewing chamber. In the picture, to the left of the person. In addition to pure walking time, ample time (2-3 hours) should be planned for photo stops and breaks. It took us about 7 hours in total.

Safety information
Paths to and on the Drachenfels are partially unmarked. Caution when crossing the road at Kurpfalzpark or Silbertal!Tips and suggestions
Dear hiking friends, please observe the rules for the Drachenfels nature reserve! https://www.pfalz.de/de/pfalz-entdecken/uffbasse-fuer-ruecksicht-und-naturschutzRoadbook
The connecting path from the parking lot to Silbertal is marked with a white stripe with a black dot (clock). Between Forsthaus Silbertal and Lambertskreuz as well as 7-Ways, you can follow the markings Pfälzer Hüttensteig or blue-white stripe. From Lambertskreuz to the 7-Ways trail junction, initially continue with blue-white.
The path to the summit route is marked with a blue stripe or a dragon symbol. Shortly after the 7-Ways junction, at a fork, keep diagonally left. 500m further, turn right following the blue marking. Then take the path to Drachenfels uphill in several switchbacks.
When you reach the summit plateau, you will find a signpost to the south rock and west rock. First take the path south. After a few meters, a path branches off to the left, gently downhill to stairs to the dragon cave. From the dragon cave, back to the path to the south rock. Before the last rocks, to the west there is a notch to the viewing chamber. From the south rock, return to the signpost, then go to the west rock. From the west rock, the descent path goes north, then keep right in a southeast direction to a fork, here keep right again and do not go downhill towards Saupferch. Stay on the forest road until 7-Ways. With the marking blue-white stripe, it goes back to Lambertskreuz. Return path marked N or yellow stripe. This path branches off north of the Waldhaus and the stone cross to the right (east). After about 3km comes a crossroads. There, follow the turnoff to the parking lot connecting path with the clock marking to the right, which leads down to Kurpfalzpark. There you have to cross to the other side of the road and walk all the way to the end of the visitor parking lot and continue on a gravel path. Soon the connecting path (clock) branches off to the right towards the road. At the road, either walk along the edge or cross the street and follow a path on the other side. Back to the Silbertal parking lot.
