Starting from the car park, the route with a moderate ascent leads straight ahead through a pine-oak mixed forest. Soon birches and heather mix into the stand until the forest clears and reveals a view of the wide area. With a bit of luck, the shepherd with his flock can be seen.
Well signposted, the path continues straight ahead and soon turns right towards Thurmberg, a hill covered with sessile oak forest. Due to the elevation in the otherwise flat landscape, it is not surprising that there once stood a tower here, presumably used as a lookout. On the increasingly sandy ground, well-camouflaged grasshoppers quickly jump aside in the summer months, showing off their colorful wings.
Turning right again, the path now goes straight downhill. On the left grows a small aspen grove, whose trembling poplar seeds in May cause the white, fluffy down at the path’s edge. The heath area abruptly ends and hikers cross a meadow covered with numerous birches, returning to an oak mixed forest. Those who have not yet discovered the bizarre, albeit admittedly tiny cup lichens should find them here at the edge of the path.
At the next crossroads, the route turns left onto the paved forest path, then shortly afterwards follows the path up the hill on the right. Turning right again leads back to Kraupa. Anyone who wishes can take a short detour up to the "Beautiful View" and be rewarded with such a view and a small resting bench.
Arriving in Kraupa, hikers can rest at the uniquely designed seating group in the village square. From here, follow the village street downhill back to the car park.
