Over steps and paths and through rocky gorges, the route leads through the Wolfsklamm and then to St. Georgenberg Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in North Tyrol. This route is especially suitable for families with older children.

Wild romantic rocky mountains, roaring waterfalls, and a magnificent mountain panorama impress in the Wolf Gorge. With its 354 steps, the gorge is probably the most beautiful of its kind in the Alps. Some sure-footedness is required, as it goes at height along moist, well-secured wooden walkways alongside the wild brook. From the end of the gorge, it is not far to St. Georgenberg Monastery. The Abbey of St. Georgenberg-Fiecht today consists of two monastery complexes about an hour’s walk apart: namely the pilgrimage site St. Georgenberg on the Georgenberg and the Stift Fiecht in Vomp. You can stop at the inn St. Georgenberg before returning to Stans – passing the pilgrimage chapel Maria Tax on the way back.
