Pilgrim hiking is "in." The Palatinate Ways of St. James are historically certified feeder routes for the four major French pilgrim routes that unite in northern Spain into a main route. The southern variant leads from the idyllic Palatinate Forest through the wonderfully open landscape in the south of the Zweibrücken region into venerable Hornbach. The panoramic views over the knoll world covered with meadows and grain fields are splendid. The hike through the valley of the Trualb is fantastic. Impressive is the "entry" of the pilgrim walker through the Hornbach city gate into the old monastery district. Many parts of the former monastery town are worth visiting. Anyone who wants to experience some of the special atmosphere of pilgrimage and the spirit of a pilgrimage trip for a day is well catered for on this hike.
