Through the Kaldenbachtal

The route was adjusted slightly in November 2020 to the current trail regulations of the National Park.
In Blens, take the Odenbachstraße uphill into the forest. There, immediately take the path to the right and follow it slowly uphill until the hiking trail branches off to the left via a serpentine footpath up to the Wetterpilz. Slightly above the Wetterpilz, follow the forest path to the right, later passing Ginter bushes, until you reach a large intersection. Here, turn right (going straight ahead here can shorten the route by about 2 km) and follow the forest path always keeping left to a fork; here turn right and in a large curve left around the mountain to the T-junction. Here turn right down the Nesselbergbachtal into the Schlehbachtal.

The path crosses the valley to the other side and at the T-junction there turns left to continue uphill in the Schlehbachtal. At the mouth of the Kaldenbachtal we cross the Schlehbach and follow the Kaldenbachtal uphill on the left side. The road makes a detour uphill to the right into the slope to a T-junction where we turn left and descend back into the Kaldenbachtal. From there, always uphill until the forest on the right and the Kaldenbach end. The path then continues along the left forest edge to its end. Here it sharply turns left around the forest corner (hiking parking lot at Scheidbaum) and continues always along the forest edge into the Odenbachtal. Down the Odenbachtal to the barbecue hut and back to the starting point via Odenbachstraße.
