This hike on Lake Brienz is true to its name. On the "Trail of the Three Waterfalls" lie three waterfalls: Erschwandenbachfall, Mülibachfall, and Giessbachfalls.
The path from Bönigen to Brienz is quite long, but the hike allows for some variations. You can divide it into two sections: from Bönigen to Iseltwald and from Iseltwald to Brienz. Or you can take the boat or the Postbus in Giessbach. The Giessbach Falls are one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Bernese Oberland and can also be reached by boat and funicular. They cascade down 14 steps to Lake Brienz. Near the historic Grand Hotel Giessbach, you can spectacularly walk behind one of the spraying waterfalls over a bridge. Much less known are the Erschwandenbachfall and the Mülibachfall, both hidden in the forests above Lake Brienz offering much more tranquility and hiking pleasure. The Erschwandenbachfall is located above Bönigen, the Mülibachfall above Iseltwald.
