Three-Stones Route - difficult variant
The Three-Stones Route starts in Bad Schandau. It leads over three table mountains to Königstein: Kleinhennersdorfer Stein, Papststein, and Gohrisch. Due to the many stairs and steps that must be mastered when crossing the Gohrisch and the Papststein, the hike is classified as difficult. A stop is possible at the mountain restaurant on Papststein, rewarding for the ascent. Beautiful views can be enjoyed at many points along the route.
Those who – especially in winter – would prefer to avoid the stairs can take the easier variant of the Three-Stones Route, which leads along the base of the stones: https://www.outdooractive.com/de/route/winterwandern/saechsische-schweiz/drei-steine-route/42809451/
At the end of the route, you can comfortably return from Königstein with the S-Bahn back to Bad Schandau, the starting point of the hike.

Safety information
In winter, the metal steps or snow-covered rock steps can be very slippery – special caution is required then! Some sure-footedness and preferably no fear of heights are recommended due to the sometimes steep stairs.Roadbook
The first section leads from Bad Schandau over the Täppichtsteig (trail marker red stripe) up to Kleinhennersdorf and from there through the "Hölle" on the forest trail further to Kleinhennersdorfer Stein. Here the first beautiful views already offer themselves. It continues on the forest trail Papststein, the second table mountain of this tour. The first meters go steeply up through the forest. Then begins a beautiful ridge trail with a dreamy view of Papstdorf and the surrounding area. On the summit is the rustic mountain restaurant Papststein. After descending from Papststein, it goes directly opposite back up to Gohrisch. Through narrow rock crevices, the path leads up to the summit. After half an hour you first reach the distinctive pavilion and can enjoy a great view there. From here, you should definitely walk to the other end of Gohrisch up to the weather vane. Not only the path to there is worthwhile. The view is breathtaking – Pfaffenstein, Königstein fortress, and Lilienstein lie at your feet! Towards the end of the tour, you now head towards Pfaffenstein, always downhill, the path leads on the trail marker yellow dot to Königstein.
With the S-Bahn, you then quickly and comfortably return to Bad Schandau, the starting point of the tour.
