Three Lakes Route

The start of this hike is in Nussbaumen, which you can reach from Frauenfeld by PostAuto. The village with its splendid half-timbered houses lies picturesquely on a sunny terrace. From there, you descend to the lakes. Nussbaumer, Hüttwiler, and Hasensee together form a natural landscape with something to discover in every season. In summer, they also invite you to swim. Afterwards, you continue towards Uerschhausen and soon reach Trüttlikon. Between the last buildings, turn right off the main road and after a slight ascent reach a ridge. The path now leads down to the vineyard; from there, keep left and walk along the upper edge of the vineyard. On clear days, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Alps. Shortly before Iselisberg, you descend into the vineyard and then cross the Uesslingen-Iselisberg road, along which you walk to the Uesslingen-Buch road. Here, follow the main road towards Uesslingen for about 200 m and turn left at the next farm into the forest. After crossing the forest, you stand before the west portal of the Ittingen Charterhouse. From Warth, it's about a 1¼ hour walk over the Thur and along the Murg stream back to Frauenfeld.
